Writing From the Inside Out:
A Therapeutic Writing Group

I invite you to participate in an immersive workshop specifically designed to facilitate the exploration and expression of your emotional experiences through the written word. "Writing from the Inside Out" seeks to create a sacred space where you can connect your inner thoughts and feelings with the outer world, thereby promoting healing, clarity, and self-awareness.

Throughout this workshop, you will engage in various guided writing exercises aimed at helping you articulate complex emotions, reflect on significant life events, and tap into your creativity. Each session will begin with gentle prompts and reflective discussions that encourage participants to dive deeper into their personal narratives.

Whether you are looking to gain a better understanding of your feelings, revisit a transformative experience, or simply experiment with writing as a form of self-exploration, this workshop provides a rich and supportive environment to facilitate your journey.

It's important to note that while "Writing from the Inside Out" offers therapeutic benefits, it is not designed to replace formal therapy. Instead, you will find a flexible yet structured group setting that fosters community, creativity, and shared insights. In this collaborative space, you'll have the opportunity to connect with others on similar paths, sharing your stories and gaining new perspectives.

Group Treatment for Eating Disorders

The “Hunger on My Bones” psychotherapy group is designed to provide patients with a supportive and therapeutic companion to their individual psychotherapy sessions. This group setting plays a crucial role in helping participants demystify the complex nature of eating disorder behaviors, ultimately reducing the stigma and shame associated with these challenges.

Through open dialogue and in-the-moment group exchanges, members are encouraged to speak about any aspect of their lives to help patients create a foundation of strength and insight to move forward in life less constrained by an eating disorder.  The group focuses on developing a profound understanding of the personal significance behind each member’s eating disorder, fostering an environment where individuals can explore the intricate dynamics of their bodies, minds, and interpersonal relationships.

Each session is 90 minutes long and allows for spontaneity and candid discussions. Patients can expect to systematically address the physical and psychological dimensions of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors related to their eating disorders. Over the course of this open-ended group, participants will progressively work through their challenges, gaining insights and tools to better navigate their lives.

The "Longing and Belonging" psychotherapy group is a nurturing space crafted for individuals grappling with profound feelings of emptiness and disconnection. Meeting bi-weekly, this group provides an opportunity for participants to articulate their innermost thoughts and emotions, transforming ambiguous feelings into articulate conversations that resonate deeply.

Each session is thoughtfully structured, inviting members to engage in real-time discussions that delve into their emotional experiences. Participants are encouraged to explore their emotional landscapes by sharing personal stories, while also practicing the art of active listening to one another. This dynamic not only fosters understanding but also helps in unearthing valuable insights about themselves and the intricate relationships that shape their lives.

As members embark on this shared journey, they not only discover their unique voices but also cultivate a strong sense of belonging within the group. Together, they navigate the complexities of their emotional struggles, forming deeper connections that enrich their experiences. This collaborative atmosphere initiates meaningful healing, guiding individuals on their paths toward fulfillment and a more profound sense of community.
