Thanks for making the important point about the mainstream media. There are so many different ways to address eating disorders especially since they are so complex. I hope this is helpful to many.

Warmly,
Angela

I also don't like talking about numbers on a scale or ounces of food in session. I send my eating disorder clients to talk about such things with a dietician. We talk about the feelings underlying the eating disordered behavior. The dietician will also stay away from numbers like slowly getting the person to stop weighing themselves. Recently, I started focusing on men with eating disorders. There are very few resources out there for men. I'm starting a group-Men's Eating Disorder and Body Image Recovery Group in Glendora, CA-Confidential. You can learn more at www.eatingdisordersgroup.com or call 626-335-0903
Angela, I like your blog. It's easy to understand for the patient and it has a nice clean look.
I really like your blog. It's honest and written in a way that others can relate to and perhaps find comfort in your journey. I especially like the shopping part. Not many resources out there on that topic. Keep writing. Please check me out in Glendora CA at www.eatingdisordersgroup.com- I also work with individuals struggling with an eating disorder. I am actually starting up a group for men. Resources for men are almost non-existent.

I really like your blog. It's written well and in a way that the average person can relate. I belive your honest story will help others. I especially like the part about shopping. Not a lot of resources out there on that. I will share with my patients. Keep writing. Ilissa Banhazl, Marriage and Family Therapy, Glendora, CA- www.eatingdisordersgroup.com
